SanDisk is launching a business-oriented flash drive that checks files for malware before they're copied to the drive.

Why not be more secure and have fingerprint scanning? _________________ I am still writing my autobiography at the moment and I expect it to be finished in late 2016. I think that I now have enough for a second volume.
Web page coming soon!!! Due for release 11.23 am Thursday 15th June 2017 Approximately. |

It's all very well having anti-virus software on the drive but can we assume that this software only scans when it's connected to a PC? I don't see how it would work otherwise. So will this device scan itself every time you plug it in? If you have a lot of files this could be very inconvenient when you're in a rush. I would therefore hope there is an index that only scans recently added or modified files. I wonder What happens if the PC in question doesn't have internet access to download the latest Mcaffe updates virus definitions? Can you still access the files? hmmm....Also does the Mcafee Subscription need renewing after a year or two?
I can see this improving things but fool proof, I'm not so sure. As for IT consultants worrying about virus's travelling via USB devices, they should still be worried as not everyone will have these. Safest thing to do is not to disable USB ports but to disable mass storage so people can still use other USB devices. _________________ Intel Core 2 Duo - 2.4GHZ

of course it's fool proof! The virus scanner & signatures occupy all available space. How much more secure can you get?
