need help on graphics card

Postby barry3116 » Wed Dec 07, 2011 10:04 pm

Hi people
just got an HP Compaq (dc7600 cmt) ,pentium D etc, also it's only got 365W PSU, does anyone know a decent gaming card I could run with this? I realise I could upgrade the PSU and search for graphics cards that only require this wattage but searching hasn't helped, there's so many different opinions on power consumption, I'm not playing anything new (maybe GTA4, if poss_) but alot of old games, any input would help
thanks for your help

Not sure if you have a separate graphic card at present, but if you use this wattage calculator with various cards, it should help to narrow down your options.

As you say, you'll not need the latest & most power hungry cards for the games you wish to play, but these charts might help you to decide which to go for.

Hi
thanks for the help, decided to install a coolermaster igreen 650w,it seems that the case takes a normal sized PSU however the depth of the existing psu is deeper but covered the gap with gaffer tape! installed an amd hd 6570 1gig
which with the processor (pentium D 3.4) i've got plays all the games the cpu allows
cheers

Asus NVIDIA GT 630 2 GB DDR3 Graphics Card can be the best option for you and it also does not cost too much.
