I'm going to Phoenix in a month or so and will be very close to 'the' Microsoft store (actually I think there is one other, north of LA). I feel drawn to go to have a look, but can't really work out why. How different to PC World can it be?
Does anyone have any ideas, or want me to report back, or take photos? |

I did wonder about going in a Mac or Ubunutu T-shirt Would I even get past the security guards?!
I'll probe their attitudes to Linux/Mac. In Linux Format they said staff in computer shops had been given 'checklists' to compare linux with 7. Apparently they say Linux has little support for peripherals, software compatibility is limited, and Windows Live Essentials is not supported.
The first 2 probably have some truth (although ymmv), and are surprisingly mild - maybe they feared one of these cards ending up at the DoJ!
The third reason..... sounds like they ran out of reasons! |
