Carbonite or Backblaze cloud backups.
Hi everybody,
I am looking into cloud backups for my desktop computer. The two I have come up with so far are carbonite and backblaze. Out of these two from what I can see backblaze is better due to it being cheaper and the fact that it does not throttle the connection.
What do people think to either of these? Does anybody know of any better ones?
Any response appreciated.
Thanks.

Unfortunately the magazine does not include backblaze in the list!

Carbonite Review:
I STRONGLY recommend against getting Carbonite, and I will be writing to PC Pro magazine to voice my concerns also as they still seem to align themselves with this poorly performing and misleading company.
Their UNLIMITED backup claims are totally unsubstantiated. I signed up to a two year contract some time ago, AFTER i signed up they changed their Ts&Cs for all UK customers so that once you have exceeded 200 GB uploaded, you cannot upload about 40 KB/s - this upload throttle *effectively* disables the service altogether (you can backup a maximum of 400 MB per day at this rate, hardly unlimited!). With the increase of fibre based connections, this is way behind the times. You only have to check the share price drop of the company to see, they are not a company that can be relied on in the future - what will happen to you precious data if (when) they go out of business? PC Pro fails to examine the strength of the business in their reviews.

Its also worth mentioning that when I complained about the upload speed to Carbonite and after proving that they T&Cs had changed since I signed up (I ALWAYS print PDF copies of T&Cs!) and asked for a refund (even suggesting a partial refund) they said they couldn't help and then stopped responding to my messages.
Very poor customer services.
