Ashampoo WinOptimizer 2014

Ashampoo WinOptimizer 2014

I downloaded and installed this from the May 2014 issue of PC Pro.

Now there are black squares on my Desktop icons.

I have tried clearing the icon cache but they come back when i reboot the PC.

Any ideas?

Thanks :)

Restore to a point before you installed it.

AVOID using automatic system optimisation tools. They seldom give any benefit and, as you see, often make things worse.
Repair shops LOVE people to use them.

There is one exception and that is disk defragmentation tools that may benefit a well updated system on a hard disk drive (not SSD drives)

I cannot remember the last time I forgot something. ;)
