Prepare for the worst

The moral of this macabre story is that it's a very sensible idea to make plans for how your digital assets should be managed in the event of your death. "This isn't something people have particularly turned their minds to," says Grosberg, but as our research has shown it's a damned sight easier to give it some thought before you're hit by the bus than it is for your family to recover your online assets after you've gone.
