The FinePix E900 Zoom features a 9 megapixel 5th Generation Super CCD HR, 4x optical zoom and sensitivity ranges between ISO 80 and ISO 800. The uncompressed RAW image format is supported, too.
It's quick off the mark, ready for action in 1.3 seconds from cold and includes Fujifilms's Highlight Warning feature that identifies any problem areas in compositions before the shot is taken.
There are a number of preset modes for difficult shooting conditions. It offers a movie mode, which the company claims as 'TV quality', and can capture video at 30 frames per second. A 2in LCD display allows you to review shots.

Like the E900 it has a 9 megapixel CCD, Highlight Warning, RAW support and even fast startup and lag times.
Adrian Clarke, Director of Photo Products, Fujifilm, said, 'Enthusiast photographers are drawn towards digital SLRs because of the image quality they offer. Certainly, a digital SLR is the definitive tool for professional photographers wishing to take stills photography. However, as DSLRs are specialist cameras, they inevitably offer less flexibility when it comes to everyday photography. We've introduced the FinePix S9500 Zoom to add a credible alternative for consumers considering an entry-level DSLR.'
The Fujifilm FinePix S5600 Zoom is billed as a mini SLR-style device. Sharing many features of the S9500 Zoom, the main pruning is in the 5 megapixel sensor.
Otherwise, it specs up well with a 10x optical zoom and ISO sensitivities between 64 and 1600. Its startup and lag times are equally impressive.
The cameras will be on sale over the next two months. Prices have yet to be announced.
