Star Wars: Empire at War  [Computer Buyer]
COMPANY: LucasArts PRICE: £25  inc VAT
RATING: ISSUE: 181  DATE: Jun 06

Verdict: The action may take place in the Star Wars universe, but it's repetitive stuff.

Let's face it, most of us at one time or another have fantasised about leading either the Rebel Alliance or the Galactic Empire, and now thanks to Star Wars: Empire At War, you can.

Both sides have their own strengths and weaknesses, but whichever one you choose, you're charged with managing their entire war campaign. You decide how to best apply their war funds and conquer the galaxy.

The space battles get closest to recreating the excitement of the movies, but aren't that exciting when you get the hang of them. Once you land on a planet things go downhill. The graphics aren't that impressive and the repetitive gameplay pales in comparison to the likes of The Battle for Middle-Earth.
