Product ReviewsModems
Becuase it's an internal (ISA) card rather than the more typical external jobbies, installing the Hayes involves opening up the computer and rooting around with slots and srews. An excellent manual shows the way with clear diagrams, though. With the external modems it's simply a matter of plugging the modem in, rebooting and following on-screen instructions - they're all Plug and Play-compatible. However, this one has the advantage of being discrete. Hayes also managed to include a microphone for its voice features. This will save you rooting around in your drawers for the one that came with your sound card. Overall performance is very good - this modem is an excellent choice if you're looking for a decent internal card. It's fast and comes with that impressive Phone Tools software, but at £119 (£140) it's more expensive that we would have thought. By - Keir Thomas SPECIFICATIONS:
