Product ReviewsDigital cameras
Plenty of options and a decent zoom. We liked this one even before we used it. Image quality If you've just read our remarks about the FinePix 2300, you won't get any surprises here! The results from both cameras are as good as you can get from a 2-megapixel CCD. They produce a grittier fine detail than rival models. Some users may prefer the smoother look generated by the Toshiba, Canon and Kodak DC3800
The FinePix models would take the top spot for quality if it weren't for the fact that the Toshiba's exposure system handled the bright skies in our test shots just that little bit better. Features FujiFilm makes a lot of different-looking digital cameras. The 2400 Zoom looks much more like the Olympus C-960 than the cheaper FinePix 2300. There's no link between the sliding lens cover and the power switch, so you must operate both when you start up. But you do get a nice, 'fast' lens (that is, one with a wider maximum aperture to handle lower light levels) with a decent 3x optical zoom range. Otherwise, the specs are very similar to those of the 2300. Overall Though a bit bulky, the FinePix 2400 is very practical. The zoom lens is well worth having. But it needs a better LCD panel. The one it has is hopelessly dim indoors, and a mono LCD status display would be handy for general picture info. Otherwise, it's rather good. By Rod Lawton SPECIFICATIONS:
