The Sanyo feels good to use. Unlike most, the TFT viewfinder responds quickly to movements, for example. After a picture's taken, you get a brief look at it on-screen - a handy touch.
Sadly, the image quality isn't so impressive. The outdoor shot was murky and slightly fuzzy (though better than some). That said, the wide field of view is good for landscapes and large groups, and the flash lit the indoor shot well.
The specially-adapted MGI PhotoSuite supplied allows easy downloading of pictures from the camera. But there's no TWAIN driver to allow you to use other applications. Annoying.
Uniquely, an internal microphone, allows you to record up to six seconds of sound, so you can keep an instant memo about a picture.
At a street price of only £300, the Sanyo has the makings of a good camera. But picture quality's only middling, so the Kodak or Sony are better choices.
