Product ReviewsOffice software
Accounts Pro can handle both basic business and personal accounts. It lacks the fancy money-speak of some accounts management software, and is fairly rough and ready, but it does provide enough flexibility to handle cash-flow information for most small businesses. It can manage multiple accounts, and you can keep tabs on different transactions by assigning them to categories. You can also store reminders to yourself, and other useful information, in 'notes' which you append to each transaction. Accounts Pro will keep track of your VAT, producing VAT reports if you ask it to. It will also print invoices (an optional extra with some pricier programs), and its filtering system allows you to keep track of unpaid invoices easily. Accounts Pro isn't sophisticated enough to deal with your tax return, but there's plenty of other affordable software specifically for that purpose. If you're starting up a new small business, or are just thinking about computerising your accounts, Accounts Pro would be a good place to start. It provides a taste of what accounts software can do, and you could find yourself sticking with it in the long term. By - Sandra Vogel
