If you're anything like me, the thought of lugging your entire CD collection around with you is enough to induce a hernia. But that's exactly what you can do with the Archos Jukebox Multimedia 120. Its built-in 20GB hard disk can store 300 albums at CD quality - all in a device no bigger than a personal stereo. But that's not all: the Archos has its own small colour

screen, and can play video as well as music!
The Jukebox is hefty by the standards of today's MP3 players, but it has its own voluptuous charm. Movie buffs will be less enamoured by the built-in screen, though. At just 1.5in across, it isn't big enough. Watching it for long periods of time strained my eyes. Luckily, the Archos has a TV-out connection, so you can plug it into your telly.
Transferring MP3s to the Archos is a breeze. Simply plug it into a USB port on your PC, and drag and drop files. Getting video into it is trickier, as the Archos only plays files in a format called DivX. Films aren't released in DivX format - and many DVDs will be protected to prevent you copying them. You can make DivX movies out of your own films, though - and the Jukebox comes with software to do just that.
The Jukebox sounds like a great idea, but its screen is too small, and too few videos are legally available in DivX. It's also too expensive.
