Tracking devices have been a staple Hollywood prop for decades, and now you can own one of your own to keep track of where you left those keys. That's progress for you. The handheld tracker comes bundled with two fobs, which attach to objects you regularly lose (up to four fobs are supported). Each is associated with a button on the tracker, a press of which begins a search for the associated object. A row of LEDs lights up incrementally as the tracker is pointed in the right direction, and a beeping noise increases in frequency the nearer you get. It worked well during our tests, even when we hid objects on the other side of a large office, but we couldn't help but wonder: what happens if you lose the tracker, too?
