Logitech's Quickcam Zoom comes with a 2.1 metre USB cable - allowing us to follow our subject, an energetic toddler, around the room.

This wouldn't be much good, if video quality wasn't up to scratch. Fortunately it is. The footage was bright and colourful, but a slight orange colour-cast is visible on both the video and still pictures. Video also suffered from a slight graininess compared to the Creative Webcam Live Ultra.

Like the Creative cams, the QuickCam Zoom comes with a stand that can be used on a flat surface or to hook the webcam over the top of a flat-panel display. Unfortunately, it only works with fairly thick screens.

The Logitech's software includes a capture function and a photo album, but that's it.

The Quickcam Zoom is great. If it weren't for the orange colour-cast and graininess, it would be in the running for a Best Buy award. It still deserves a Recommended award, though.
