Verdict:
Makes it easy to do not very much. A decent program, but flawed and overpriced.
There were a lot of things we liked about Avanquest Perfect Image. It doesn't have all the whistles and bells of Acronis, for example, but it's very logically organised and easy to find your way around. It allows you to create images and browse backups, and generally does everything it should.
We particularly liked the Volume Explorer feature, which allows you to browse all the folders on a disk, then simply right-click a folder and back it up to a remote location on the fly. Novice users may still get a little lost in the cryptic folder structures, though.
Try as we might, we couldn't get this program to recognise and access our network attached storage (NAS) drive, something that both Aconis and Ghost managed to do. We were also surprised to discover that this program costs more than both of the others, despite having fewer features. Stick to Acronis - it's a better deal.
