The D40x directly rivals Canon's EOS 400D, and has many things in its favour. The 3fps continuous mode lasts for 100 rather than the 400D's 30 shots, and a focus assist lamp aids sharp focus in low light. The Auto ISO mode is fully configurable, so you can dictate exactly how the camera works in low light without resorting to manual. Unlike the 400D, there's no dust removal system or exposure/white balance bracketing, and accessing ISO speed and white balance settings isn't as immediate. The two cameras are neck and neck for image quality, but the Canon is a little sharper and cleaner at high ISO settings. SPECIFICATIONS:
