Few cameras around £100 have an ultra-slim aluminium body and Li-ion battery, and none offer the overall quality to match the W35. It's blisteringly fast, taking 1.5 seconds to switch on and take a photo, then 1.3 seconds between shots. The small LCD is complemented by an optical viewfinder, a rarity at this price. Picture quality is excellent, with sharp detail and reliable colour, and the 2cm macro takes fantastic close-ups. The Fujifilm F20 has even higher image quality, with lower noise, but if compactness and performance are your key concerns, the W35 is very appealing.
