Verdict:
Fantastic image quality in a smart package.
Other cameras have more features or faster performance, but the F20 lays claim to the best picture quality ever to grace a budget compact. Photos are impeccably sharp and bursting with attractive colour, but best of all is the relative lack of noise in low light. It's almost impossible to take a bad picture.
We're not particularly keen on the use of xD cards, which are slower and more expensive than SD, but performance is still reasonable at around two seconds per shot. The lens is a non-stabilised 3x zoom, but the high-resolution 2.5in screen and stylish aluminium shell make the F20 feel classy.
