LabsUninterruptible power supplies
Trust's 1200VA Management UPS is enormous. It has the same 1200VA rating as Belkin's 1200VA, but Trust only claims it can output 600W, compared to the Belkin's 670W. That's still enough juice for a powerful PC. The 1200VA has four IEC battery backup sockets, so it could power two PCs and two monitors, although it only comes with two cables. You can buy additional cables for around £3 from dealers. The Trust's battery power lasted a long time. It kept our test PC going for 37 minutes at idle, and 26-and-a-half minutes under load, which is near the top of this group. It can connect to your PC with an old-fashioned serial cable, if the PC has a serial port, but not USB. The WinPower software can save files and shut down your PC, but is hard to use, and we had a lot of trouble getting the email alerts to work. Sponsored Links
