Stikkit   [Computer Buyer]
COMPANY: Stikkit PRICE: £0
RATING: ISSUE: 197  DATE: Aug 07

Stikkit is a deceptively simple web applicationfor organising your bookmarks, calendar events, contacts and notes. Its 'stikkits' are small yellow windows that look like sticky notes, and you type directly intothem.

So far, so mid-1990s Windows desk accessory, but Stikkit is smarter than it looks. It tracks what you type, searching for what it calls 'magic words', such as 'at' or 'on', and uses these to interpret salient details, appointments and contacts so that it can organise your data automatically.

For example, as you type people's names they're turned into contacts, which it calls 'peeps'. Events are also recognised, so if you type 'Meet Jane tomorrow at 9', not only will it recognise the name (assuming Jane is a peep), but it'll understand 'tomorrow' and the time, and generate a new calendar event for you. Stikkit supports the iCalendar format, so you can access your diary from other apps.

If it gets over-enthusiastic, you can stop Stikkit looking for data in what you type simply by entering an exclamation mark first.
