Verdict:
Without a modem, gigabit networking or easy wireless setup, the expensive Trendnet isn't good value.
At £110, the Trendnet is one of the most expensive routers on test. Yet it doesn't have a modem or gigabit network ports. Neither does it boast push-button wireless setup, or a USB port to share a printer, like the USRobotics. And the blue case and glowing orange 'Wireless router' logo aren't particularly stylish.
Like most others here, it does have Quality of Service to ensure your Skype calls are skip-free and games don't lag, and there are plenty of other settings to play with. The TEW-631BRP also proved a reasonable performer with Trendnet's matching adapters, although it couldn't keep up with the Buffalo.
Overall, despite a three-year warranty, the Trendnet doesn't do enough to compete with cheaper, better-equipped routers here.
