LabsWireless routers
With its tri-blade aerial and huge size, Buffalo's draft-n monster couldn't be described as subtle. As befits its stature, it's the fastest router here, partly thanks to dual-band radio. That means that it can use both 2.4GHz (like every other router here) and 5GHz. As cordless phones and microwaves use 2.4GHz, which can cause interference, the Nfiniti offers a more reliable connection. To achieve the fastest wireless speeds, you'll need the matching PC Card or USB adapter, which cost £60 each. It's good to see gigabit network ports and the automatic (and secure) wireless connection function, which negates the need for complicated passwords. But considering that the Buffalo costs far more than the rest (with no ADSL modem), it's only for you if you need the fastest possible speed. SPECIFICATIONS:
