The D70 has a 6.1 effective megapixel Nikon DX format CCD for images up to 3008x2000 pixels. Its lens mount is compatible with all AF Nikkor lenses, but the camera is designed to work with the DX Nikkor range, including the new AF-S DX, that has been developed specifically for D-Series cameras.

The company has also unveiled the 30GB Nikon Coolwalker which while sounding like a character from Star Wars is in fact a portable image storing device capable of holding over 10,000 pics from a typical six megapixel camera. It will sell for around £399.99.
