The splash-proof Voyagers inspire confidence when you feel their weight and classy black finish. Each speaker's internal battery, which recharges when the speaker is plugged in, provides up to five hours' playing time; the batteries can also be replaced when they reach the end of their useful lives, which is good design.

What's not so good is that the VYWSS use the 2.4GHz RF band - the same frequency as most WiFi networks. As soon as we started relaying audio from our PC, our Internet connection cut out. Just to complete the effect, our cordless mouse also stopped working. You can usually get round this by switching the channel used by the speakers, but the audio signal still seemed to be adversely affected when our wireless router was used.

If you don't need to use a WiFi connection or a cordless mouse while listening to your music, you'll be pleased with the sound quality and power of these speakers. When we turned off our other wireless stuff and let the Voyagers get on with it, their signal was strong and the audio output was good. There's also a wireless remote control that can be used to control the volume from any room.
