Uninstaller Platinum 2 is best described as Your Uninstaller!'s slightly more cautious sibling. Intended to keep your Registry free of unused entries left behind by uninstalled programs, it isn't as effective on a number of counts. Firstly, it doesn't provide any additional benefit over Windows Add/Remove

Programs for applications that already exist on your hard disk. Only programs installed after Uninstaller Platinum can be fully wiped. The program runs in the background and starts up when you run the installer of a new application. It then asks you if you'd like to take a snapshot of your Registry. When you later want to remove the program, Uninstaller Platinum asks you to locate this snapshot file so it can restore the Registry to its previous state. But we found this notification was sometimes hidden behind the software's installer window, so we weren't reminded to record the snapshot. This meant the program might not function as it should.

We were also unimpressed that the redundant file remover asked us to select each individual file to be removed, which took ages. Uninstaller Platinum does what it sets out to do, but it's way outclassed by Your Uninstaller! 2008 Pro.
