This looks like it should solve a genuine problem: how to extend your wireless network into hard-to-reach areas of the house. The product is a HomePlug adapter with a 54Mbit/sec wireless adapter built in. Sadly, getting WiFi to work was tricky. The product can't dynamically assign IP addresses, so you have to configure Windows to use one of a range of IP addresses specified by the user guide. Until you do this, the adapter will be able to communicate with any other mains adapters plugged into your network, but you won't be able to access its configuration page. Transfer speed over the mains connection was the same as that of the normal Solwise adapter: not great but not bad. Fiddly setup aside, this is a useful product for anyone who wants to have wireless Internet access in part of their house that the wireless signal of their router just can't reach.
