Fasthosts launched the £5-per-month Office 2007 subscription scheme back in February. But within days Microsoft claimed the service breached its licensing terms, creating an uneasy stand-off between the two companies.
PC Pro noticed at the end of last week that the service had vanished from the Fasthosts' website, with all links to the Office facility simply rerouting to the company's hosting pages.
A spokesman for the company assured us on Friday that "a technical hitch with new sign-ups" had forced the company to take down the offer, but that it was only a temporary problem and existing customers could continue to use the service as normal.
Five days on, however, and the "temporary hitch" is still to be fixed, with no sign whatsoever of the Office offer on the site.
Fasthosts has promised to update PC Pro on the service later today.
