Cut from the same ultra-tough, ruggedised cloth as its 10.1in stablemate, the FZ-M1 delivers Core i5 processing power, Windows 8.1 and a range of accessories that allow it to adapt to almost any situation.

3D Systems ChefJet hands-on: the 3D food printer

There’s no shortage of 3D printers in the halls of CES 2014, but 3D Systems’ ChefJet is a bit different to most – it serves up edible 3D-printed sugary snacks. Designed to realise the most complex of pastry chef garnishings (or just the crazed imaginings of deep-pocketed sweet addicts), the ChefJet is the first commercially available 3D food printer.

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon (2014) review: first look

CES 2014 has seen Lenovo continue its blazing run of form, and its newly refined ThinkPad X1 Carbon is no exception. We may not have been fans of the X1 Carbon Touch (we preferred the original, slimmer non-touch model), but 2014 sees Lenovo combine the best of both worlds – the new, touchscreen-equipped X1 Carbon is now the lightest 14in Ultrabook in the world.

Lenovo ThinkPad 8 review: first look

Lenovo’s ThinkPad 8 is the first compact Windows tablet to enter the ThinkPad family, and it’s an absolute stunner. With Windows 8.1 powered by quad-core Bay Trail and an 8.4in, 1,920 x 1,200 IPS display, this looks to the be the must-have business tablet.

Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 review: first look

Samsung seized the opportunity to unveil its new PRO range of tablets at CES 2014, and the Galaxy TabPRO 8.4 is the baby of the new family. With a 2,560 x 1,600-pixel resolution crammed into its 8.4in display, and a heavily modified version of Android 4.4 KitKat, the TabPRO 8.4 is looking pretty special.

Sony HMZ-T3W with prototype head-tracking review: first look

Sony’s HMZ-T3W turned plenty of heads back at IFA 2013, but now Sony has demonstrated the head mounted display in tandem with a prototype head-tracking device. This small battery-powered sensor clips to the rear of the HMZ-T3W, and provides users with a virtual reality style experience.

The ZenFone 4 sits at the bottom of Asus’ recently announced smartphone range, but it packs in a pretty serious bang for every buck of its $99 asking price. With Intel’s CloverTrail+ platform powering Android 4.3, and pretty much all the essentials you’d expect of a budget phone, the ZenFone 4 is gunning for the attention of cash-strapped smartphone buyers far and wide.

Asus Transformer Book Duet TD300 review: first look

Asus yanked the covers off a stack of new laptops, tablets and smartphones at today’s CES 2014 press conference in Las Vegas. Out of them all, one product stood out: the Asus Transformer Book Duet TD300, which seamlessly combines Windows 8.1 and Android, and swaps between the two in a matter of seconds.
