We got an A11 Core i3 model in last week. Very nice unit, although I still prefer my A10 model, but it is better specified, with a 1680x1050 15.4" display.

The 15.6" 16:9 display is a step backward from the 16:9 displays... These are business models and vertical resolution is more important than fitting HD video on the screen...

The contoured black plastic of the lid looks more resilient to scratches than the A10 with its bronze/silver finish. It looks thinner as well, although there isn't much difference.

It is sprightly enough, although there is a significant pause between the "press alt+ctrl+del" screen and the login dialog, something which I don't get on my A10, but that came with Vista and I upgraded it to Windows 7, so it doesn't have the complete bloatware package - the A10s I rolled out with Windows 7 also suffer from this pause.

A nice thing is the 4GB RAM as standard, at least I don't have to purchase that separately and perform an upgrade, once I've received the machines...

The one downside is the Fingerprint utility, which doesn't seem to be compatible with Firefox under Windows 7.

https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/forum/1/489941#threadId607473

The fingerprint utility is automatically installed. On a standalone machine, it can be turned off, but in a domain, it usually re-enabled itself when you log off and log back on / reboot.

Ad Astra's solution on the second page works - delete the CLSID entries in the registry for the add-on. Hopefully Toshiba will bring out a fix soon...

Other than that, it is a nice little machine and I'm happy to roll it out to our users. It is a cheap, no frills budget business laptop, not on a par with Lenovos, but it is good enough - and certainly better than the HP ProBook series, the 17" version cost less than an A11 15" and you can tell, it flexes all over the place!
