I started using PHPDesigner, and enjoyed using it for a bit, but could not get over some annoying quirks, the left it for a while.

However, I recently discovered Aptana Studio which has blown my mind.

Amazingly, it is Eclipse-based, but they have succeeded in usability where before I have just found Eclipse to be clunky and slow.

The level of customisation to both the core program and the interface is simply mind boggling, and the amount of truly useful features just makes coding a dream.

The best thing about it is teh FTP support to multiple sites as well as the Auto-upload on Save script that comes with it which has allowed me to ditch Dreamweaver once and for all.

Sorry to hijack your review, but until you try it, I don't think you can all PHPDesigner the best PHP editor.

Oh - and Aptana is free. Fancy that.

I have starting programming with php Designer and I am very content. It helps me learning much easier php, it is easy to use and intuitive with a lot of functions that make your life easier. I give it an 10.

I have used RapidPHP http://www.blumentals.net/rapidphp, which is very nice and light PHP IDE compared to others.
