On Spotify, F**k You is more popular than its original. Interestingly, it’s the only track for which the censored version is offered. I’m trying to decide if it’s more popular because of its comedy element or because having the f-word blasting out of your speakers quite that frequently could be a problem in some circumstances.

Richard, it’s a Blog entry, – it’s allowed to be as trivial as the author chooses. (Although this does raise a issue about the prominence of the Blog entries.)

Regarding the issue at hand (the extra charge for washing Lily Allen’s mouth out), presumably it is simple market forces. The ‘altered’ version of the album is essentially a niche product, and therefore would be expected to be more expensive (due to smaller economies of scale). Also, I imagine someone has worked out that parents will pay a significant premium for a ‘clean’ version, especially if their children are insisting on getting a copy.
