What I can't stand is when news like this comes out SO far in advance of the actual product. This is a very cool looking product and I for one would be quite interested in buying it.

That said, I don't think this alone would be the Kindle killer. Amazon seems to be killing it's own device, The Kindle is well designed and well marketed but it's not available, THAT'S the biggest killer. I really wanted a Kindle. I'd buy one right now - IF I could. Amazon simply says it's backordered and won't ship for weeks. If I can wait that long, I figure I can wait a little longer and get the Plastic Logic reader (so what if it doesn't have CDMA/GSM technology).

If Amazon wants to stay in the game, they should think about getting more of those Kindles put together pronto. On the flip side, if Plastic Logic comes out with a Ver1.0 of their eBook reader a few months ahead of schedule (say, in time for Christmas '09), Amazon may as well just stop "selling" kindles.
