I realise that you are happy with your service but many people are not and by taking your stance you are playing into the hands of the telecom companies and ISPs who will become complacent and do nothing. Don't forget you have a little more influence than us average Joes and they will take notice of your sayings but you do not speak for all of us. You are saying basically "I'm alright Jack" when you should be saying, I'm fortunate enough to be OK but I'm going to speak up on behalf of those who may not be getting the same level of service. Not all of us rural dwellers have cars either because some of us are on low incomes. Several of my friends and family do not have cars, I give lifts to some of them, some share cars and others use public transport if it is available to them even if it means a two mile walk to a once weekly bus journey. Some are very elderly and or disabled, the internet is a lifeline to these people with the diminishing services available to them locally. I'm banging on a bit now but I'm sure you get my drift.

I'm a rural user too. At two miles from the phone exchange I get around a 1Mbps download speed.

So yes, I'd like a speed improvement please.

I'd especially like BT with their whizzy new 21CN and fibre optic rollout to pay attention to rural users.

As it is I suspect that in five years time this address will have the same speed broadband available wheteher or not I'm still living here...
