About the PC Pro Awards

Reliability & Service Awards
The PC Pro Reliability & Service Awards are the most comprehensive guide to customer support and product reliability in Europe, let alone the UK – compiled from the UK’s largest independent survey of IT customer satisfaction. They are now so well respected that IT manufacturers regard the results as the most dependable and honest assessment of their products and UK after–sales service.

The Reliability & Service Awards are the most prestigious in the IT industry for good reason: they’re based entirely on our readers’ experience. Last year the 16,000 readers who took part gave their verdict on almost 100,000 products and answered over a million questions!

In each category, we ask our readers to rate the reliability of the products they have bought, customer support (if applicable), and how satisfied they are – in particular, if they would buy from that company again.

We combine all this information to produce a numeric rating, and the company with the highest rating wins. If any companies are hot on their heels, they win a Finalist award.

Editorial Awards
There are three awards that companies can nominate themselves for: Real World Business, Technical Innovator of the Year and Environmental Innovator of the Year.

The Environmental Innovator of the Year is a new addition to the PC Pro Awards. In partnership with Sustain IT, this award acknowledges either the policies or products produced by companies to reduce their carbon footprint, or the amount of environmental waste produced by their customers. The Real World Business award will go to the company whose products have made the biggest difference to business computing in 2007. The final decision will rest with our Real World Contributors (such as Jon Honeyball, Steve Cassidy and Simon Jones), but you can put your company forward by completing this entry form.

You can also submit your company to be considered for Technology Innovator of the Year; download the entry form here. If you make our shortlist, the decision will be made by PC Pro’s editorial team.

The Labs Award is very different. This is based on each company’s performance in our Reviews and Labs sections over the course of the past 12 months. We work out their average score, then give bonus points for the number of awards won per appearance. The winner is quite simply the company with the highest number of points. To qualify, the company must have appeared on at least six different occasions during the year.
